'05 Precedent - Fast Reverse / Slow Forward

I have an '05 Precedent. I just completed the 6 - 8v battery conversion with the factory kit. I put in an Alltrax DCX500 controller, heavy duty solenoid, 2 gauge battery cables and Trojan T-875 batteries as well.

When I select forward on the F/R switch, the cart moves forward as it should. It just does it slow. When I select reverse, nothing happens until the throttle is approximately half way depressed. When it does move, it seems like it wants to rip the rear end out. It jumps and travels quite fast. Over twice the forward speed.

I went through the wiring and verified everything was connected correctly.

Any suggestions on what to check next?

I swapped F1 and F2 wires (F1 on controller to F2 on motor and F2 on the controller to F1 on the motor). The cart worked faster forward than reverse but I had to swap the wires at the F/R switch to make it work correctly. I changed the Alltrax to ClubCar3A file. Not much jerkiness now. Does 17mph uphill. 23mph down the same hill. Around 20mph on relatively flat surface. 4-5mph max in reverse on the flat surface. Stock motor.

Any problems with switching the F1 and F2 as I did?

switching those 2 wires will not damage anything.

Thank you. Cart seems to drive fine but I was just confirming.
