199? 48 volt V-Glide DS problem
Like the title says, diagnosing a 48 volt DS with a V-glide, mid-late 90s model I assume, controller is under the rear body on passenger side. The cart will go maybe an inch in forward, sometimes not at all, then maybe a little in reverse, and after some fooling for maybe five minutes it'll take off and run just like normal. I have to check it out in person tomorrow evening, aside from the normal stuff like batteries, all connections, and bad wires, any thoughts on what to check out?

Hmmm, and maybe moving inches on the resistor, only going well when the solenoid engages. Good call Scotty! I'll check it out tomorrow and report back.

Re: 199? 48 volt V-Glide DS problem
That was a thought I had too, taking provisions to test it. Thought maybe a controller problem, but in my experience they don't do what this one's doing when they're bad - do they?

Re: 199? 48 volt V-Glide DS problem
Glad someone else thinks like I do. I think I have a spare 48 volt solenoid, I'll have to dig though - I have four or five 36 volt ones, but I rarely work on 48 volt carts. I might have to go to the local dealer and pay his exorbitant prices for a new one.

Re: 199? 48 volt V-Glide DS problem
Actually belongs to a car lot - the owner bought several at an auction to sell on his lot and has problems with this one. A friend of his knows a friend of mine who told him I work on carts.
I'll just have to pass the exorbitant pricing on, I hate doing that though. |
