Faded floor mats
The floor mats in my 2010 CC Precedent are becoming faded. Does anyone have any ideas how to refurbish them? I was thinking bedliner spray paint. Any suggestions?

You would think some kind of tire shine would work. LOL I think.

Re: Faded floor mats
I tried spraying black paint on them once, and it just peeled off and looked like crap.
You can buy a whole new mat set up, that covers the entire area, right up under the dash area. I have bought a couple of them for less than 60.00. Just throw the old one away, the new one lays right in place. |

Re: Faded floor mats
Just have to tell this.
I worked for a security outfit that used plain f250's. Rubber floor mats. One day after a rain spell one of our guys took the bosses truck to the car wash to get it cleaned. The mats were muddy, so he cleaned them really good and shined them up with armor all. Should have seen the boss slip and bust his rear trying to step up into the truck. |

I used turtle wax f21 tire foam and it brightened my faded mats to near new without being slippery. I was gonna replace them anyway so I said why not give it a try. It looks really good. Here's a pic of my donor cart that received some over spray of f21 when hitting the rear fender covers and bag well. I had them sitting on there while I sprayed them down.
This last pic is of my cart that I sprayed about two weeks ago. Before I sprayed it it was severely faded like the donor cart mat. |

Re: Faded floor mats
I've had great success with the tire foam as well. They are a bit slippery at first but shine like new.
