Default Curtis 1510 vs. 1510A

Is there any difference between the Curtis PMC 1510 and the Curtis 1510A controllers that will make them work in some carts, but not others? For example, my 03 DS has a PMC 1510 controller in it. But my 08 DS came with a PMC 1510 controller and didn't run. Changed it out to a 1510A controller, and it ran fine. Come to find out, the 1510A is OEM on an 08 DS and a PMC 1510 is OEM on an 03 DS. Now the 03 Pathway I looked at had a 1510A controller in it, and it didn't run. Come to find out, the 03 Pathway should have a PMC 1510 controller in it.

Any help is appreciated

There's not much difference in the two. Maybe a little different motor mapping or something. Nothing that an individual user would notice and definitely nothing that would keep them from being interchangeable with one another.

Crap! So that means that the PMC 1510 controller that was in my 08 DS is shot. The readings coming out of it on the 16-pin were pretty funky. I kept it as an extra on the off chance it will still work. If I take it to my CC dealer, can they plug in the handheld and rear error codes, etc., or does it need to be in the cart to power up?

It needs to be installed to power up.
