which mcor do i need??
On a 2009 precedent, # PH0915-016013.
I want to replace the mcor. This has that weird short harness and small black box, in series with the mcor. My questions are : Do I need to replace all 3 parts ( mcor, harness jumper, and black mystery box)? I have seen am mcor3 that has a short harness, but that doesn't make sense to me. What all parts do I need? Part numbers? Here is what I have : Last edited by smokey tennis shoe; 08-14-2014 at 08:21 PM.. Reason: add pictures |

Re: which mcor do i need??
CTD, well then round him up so he can set us straight.
He has answered this many times, I don't know why it is so complicated. I think this small black box has some resistors in it, and to my knowledge, they are not for sale. |

Yes, the box has resistors in it on Excel models such as yours. They should ohm out at 461 ohms on the three throttle wires. If they're wrong, you may order a new box. The part number is on that little white tag. |

Re: which mcor do i need??
The mystery box is the conversion from the original MCOR to your replacement one. I suspect that's not your original. I heard there was a recall for our 2009s - mine had it but I ran the IQ wiring harness which removed the mystery box as the IQ harness plugged directly in to the MCOR. So you should only have to replace the MCOR. There is another thread running on this page(at the moment) that has the part numbers.
Hope that helps. |

Re: which mcor do i need??
David, awesome as always. Thanks so much for your time and knowledge.
I saved this, and also printed it out. I do have one question about this. I do have the 2009, in the picture. So you said that in my excel , this adaptor must be in place. My question, is since I am replacing my mcor, regardless if I use a mcor 2 or an mcor 4, DO I STILL NEED TO USE THIS HARNESS AND ADAPTOR SET UP ( the one in the picture ) with the new mcor? |
