I couldn't find that schematic but as close to that year they seem to be hot. You should be easy to test that though.

The serial number is A9126248839. I'm pretty sure it's negative switched. Test lead from blue wire to pack negative is 0 with key on. Test lead from blue wire to pack positive is 38.79 with key on. No voltage on the other key switch terminal.

Clarify something, with the key on, both terminals of the key switch must have the same voltage....so something is off on what you wrote...

Sorry, key on - both terminals have 37.89 volts when test lead is connected to pack positive.

key off- red terminal has 37.89, blue has 0 when test lead connected to pack positive.

You are right, it is a negative key switch. Since earlier you said the coil had a polarity, try it again with the coil from blue to pack positive and flip the connections if it does not work the first time.

I'll try that. Do you mean just switch the connection from the blue terminal to the pack positive terminal on the relay? I'm currently hooking it up as the picture shows via the marine switch to verify that the relay works. I know I have 36 volts positive there.

Connect the relay coil from the blue wire to the pack positive, it it does not click when you turn the switch on, just reverse the 2 wires at the back of the relay.

Sorry, yes use the positive you have in place of the pack positive connection.

If that positive wire is like 14ga or better, you can leave that connection permanently for both the relay coil and relay contact hot side.

Ok, the relay works. wired it per the picture to the marine toggle switch. Now to get this straight for the key switch;

connect the blue wire (-) from the key switch to the pack positive on the relay? Which wires do I switch?

Sorry for being so dense.
