Turn signal flashes slowly then stops flashing

I have a 2007 IQ with headlights, taillights, horn, and Signal Stat 900 turn signal arm. Everything operates as it should when the lights are off. But, as soon as I turn the lights on. The turn signal flashing gets longer in between flashes then finally stops flashing. It then does not flash at all the rest of the ride. Turn the lights off. The turn signal flashes normally.

The rear taillights are LED with 3 wires going into it. The front light bar has incandescent bulbs with separate turn signal bulbs. I'm not sure what's causing it. I checked connections to wiring harnesses front to back.

Sounds like you have a voltage drop when the lights are on. The flasher relies on enough current draw to operate. If it's slow and stops flashing, the current draw through it is too low for it to operate properly. You can try a different flasher.

This sounds like my power outlet problem I had. When I would turn on the headlights it would cause my gps to loose power and go off. I could turn it back on after the headlights were on and it would be just fine. Sounds like your flashers don't work even after the lights have been on.
I was able to put a diode and cap on my power outlet circuit to cure my problem. Don't know if that would work in your case or not.

Steve and Volt, it's a standard flasher. I could try a LED flasher from my local auto parts store.

I ran into something similar a while back on a 6 seater. The turn signal would flash 4-5 times then stop. When you blew the horn it would sound for .5 sec and shutoff......and the lights wouldn't power on. Turned out to be that an inline fuse from the DC converter had gotten corroded and though it still made some contact, it wasn't enough to give more than a "pulse" of power. I cut out the offending fuse assembly and replaced it with a new one and it solved the problem. However, during testing I can tell you that when attached to a multimeter it would read correct voltage at connections, like the horn. I went through all the typical issues (relays, fuses, etc in the harness) and was about to just give up on it for the day when I stumbled across that fuse. It was under the passenger side batteries hidden from sight. The worst part was that I had use my meter with wire probe on the wire with the offending fuse, but I had probed it about 24 inches in front of the problem.

Stang, I'm in the process of tearing the cart down to the frame. I've got the battery box and the whole wiring harness out of it. In pic 2 shows the breakers this cart uses instead of fuses. Looks like it needs some cleaning or to be replaced. I'm going to check the harness and connections in detail.

I've not seen that type flasher used in a cart. Most all of them have the generic blue case.

The second picture is the little breaker that comes with the headlights. Seeing that, I would assume you have brake lights, and that it's the brake light kit that has the times and relay under the floor panel near the brake adjustment rod. Those kits use another relay, a really crappy made in china one that is on the back of the harness behind the key panel. I've had many of those relays crap out, or have intermittent heat related failures and that will cause a total light system failure as well. Check the function of that relay, and output voltage. There is a large blue wire, large green wire, small blue and small red wire on the relay.

Let me know if you do have brake lights, and which kit you have there. I was leaning one way in thought, but it could be a MadJax kit witch would change where I'd point towards. If you don't have a brake kit, and that breaker in pic two is installed in the battery box, I'd trash it. I've seen them in the instructions call for that, but I've never used one that way. I only use them on a brake light install. It could also be the root of your issue if it is faulty

I think the previous owner tried to fix it and added the flasher. Yes, it does have the brake light kit. The complete kit was on the cart when I bought it along with this issue. I don't think it's a Madjax since it has a Signal Stat 900 turn signal arm with hazard lights and horn button on it. The times and relay is under the floorboard. I was thinking Madjax is different than my setup. My prior post first pic shows the back of the key panel with the harness and relay. Maybe hard to see it. I'll check the relay volts. I may try a LED flasher if relay is good.

The pic shows exactly my setup. It does not show the breaker that I have in the floorboard. I noticed the blue signal flasher on this one.
