Charging problems
I took the golf cart apart to do some upgrades and painting. After getting back together the cart runs, but it won't charge. The inline fuse looks good. The only wire that needed to be disconnected was the positive wire that went directly to the battery. I was told it needed to be connected to the main battery? Is this the positive cable that goes to the solenoid or the positive cable that goes to the control box?

Re: Charging problems
During the rebuild I left the batteries all connected, and we used it all last year, so they should all be wired correctly. We actually used it the week before taking the cart apart. I basically took the body off and left the rest in place.
In the beginning I had the wire from the charging receptacle going to the positive that went to the solenoid. I was told it needed to go to the positive wire that went to the control box. When I first had it going to the solenoid the charger worked but the wire got hot. I changed it to the wire going to the control box and nothing worked, changed it back to the other wire and still nothing. I have two charges, so I don't think its the charger. |

Re: Charging problems
The red wire from my charge port goes to the main pos battery post. The black goes to the neg block near my controller if I not mistaken.

Re: Charging problems
. . . do you still have the 4-12v battery configuration? . . . if so, the positive wire from charger port should go to positive terminal of #1 battery under passenger area (outer most battery on left side when viewing cart from front) . (same as my cart) .

Re: Charging problems
Thanks,
I think that's what I was looking for? Trying to figure out what battery was the main #1 battery. So that's the battery under the passenger. Yes I still have the 4-12V battery set up. |
