Default 6-8v conversion now here's my issue

I did the 6-8v conversion and here is my issue.
I checked my batteries after the first charge and again this morning and they read as follows from the main negative side towards the positive side 8.5,8.5,8.4,8.4,8.3,8.3. I wonder why they are in pairs as far as voltage goes dropping as they get closer to the main positive lead.
Any ideas?

After a full charge and before moving the cart, unplug the DC cord from the cart, wait 25 sec and plug it back.
The OBC will start an equalize cycle, it runs a little longer and with a higher finish voltage.
