Default No power to climb hills

I have a 1992 Club Car DS with a 36 volt system. The cart has good power and goes great on the flats but has a lot of trouble going over hills, even small hills. Once over the top it takes off and runs great again. The previous owner said the batteries are only a year old and the cart seems to have been well maintained. I have no experience with electric carts and do not know where to start to trouble shoot this problem. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom

. . what you are experiencing would be considered "normal" for that cart . . . short of investing in serious upgrades, this is what one can expect from stock golf cart . . .

Connect a digital battery meter to the pack and note the starting voltage and then the voltage while struggling uphill. If these reading are more than 6v apart you may have a weak battery. Go back and do the same test for each individual battery. See if one drops more than 1 volt. A drop of 2v indicates a dead cell

Hope this helps
