Installing a 12v accessory outlet and looking for battery
I want to install a 12v accessory outlet for various uses. Mostly I will be running a Boss ATV 80 speaker tube. The information that came with the speaker did not come with any technical information on power usage so I'm not sure what the draw is. It has 8" speakers and an internal amp. 700w output.
I really don't want to tie into my batteries for the cart. I have a separate battery mounted in the back for my winch which is used to winch the cart in the back on my truck when camping. I don't want to use that battery either with out knowing the draw of the speakers. I was thinking of putting in a small 12v battery (like a rechargeable scooter battery) strictly for this outlet. Anybody have any thoughts on the use of a smaller battery? Thanks |

Re: Installing a 12v accessory outlet and looking for battery
700W / 12V = 58 amps! I doubt that your speaker pulls that much current. That is probably a peak power rating.
