Slow Club Car, new batteries?

Hello all- first time here, hope you can help. I have a '94 Club car which I have had for 10 years. When I first got it, it had plenty of power, and would hold a charge for weeks. The older it gets, the weaker it gets. I have just replaced all the batteries & cables in the past year, still sluggish. It doesn't hold a charge under load very well, and nothing seems to be amiss. I have verified that the speed controller is working correctly. No cables are getting hot, there is no corrosion anywhere. Is it possible that the motor or brushes are at fault? It will barely climb a hill anymore, even fully charged. It used to go 8 or 9 miles on a charge, now about 1 or 2 at most. Any insight would be helpful! thanx, roboto

Have you tested the batteries to make sure they are where they should be?

Yes, they are all new, and all test at 6.4 volts

Time to rebuild the motor.

Before you do that check the voltage of the batteries under load at the battery post and at the motor with full throttle while going down the road. If you see good voltage on the motor terminals, then you know the motor is the problem.

Shouldn't this 94 club car be a 48 volt cart?

CC introduced 48v in '95

Triple check that all the battery cables are connecting (+) to (-) through the whole pack... could be one battery in backwards?

Also, can you post the serial number?
You are 100% that it's a 36v cart right?

Thanx for the replies, it is 36 volt, and all cables/batteries are installed correctly. This is not a recent problem, but rather a gradual decline over the past few years. Voltage to the motor under load is good. I will look into motor rebuild. Thanx again!
