Re: need to slow down
I have the same problem with my car. It will go 100 mph if I hold the pedal to the floor but the speed limit is nearly half of that.

Re: need to slow down
Have you tried letting up on the accelerator pedal a bit. Real cheap and easy to do.

Re: need to slow down
What make and model?
If they are gas carts speed is controlled by the governor. If electric speed is controlled by the electronic controller which can be programmed. Cart dealership can do this for you. But man I would love to see the look on the dealers face when you ask them to slow it down. |

Re: need to slow down
The club car is an Excel model, just take it to any CC dealer and they should be able to change the speed code to a slower one...

Re: need to slow down
If You want to be able to toggle the speed on the fly, here is something You can try:
In the Excel drive, the Controller needs to see approximate 4.6v in order to allow full speed. You can add a resistor in series with the "positive" side of the MCOR to effectively limit the maximum voltage seen by the controller. You would need to cut the white wire at MCOR 3 pin connector and extended it to a location where you would mount the ON/OFF switch. When the switch S1 is ON the resistor R1 is shorted so the system works as before (Full Speed). When the switch S1 if OFF, the resistor R1 adds a voltage drop that limits the top end of the Speed. You may need to try different Resistor sizes until You get the top limit You are looking for, but I would start with a 2K resistor. You also did not mention how fast your cart can go now and what the speed limit was. I am also assuming it is all standard equipment. |
