Scoared a free cart! That was on fire!! Please help
Hi Yall,
Check out my free score! I really need some help trying to figure out what to do with this thing. As you can see the batteries had caught on fire at one point and had burnt the seat and part of the body. Option 1. Buy batteries, fix the wiring and drive it around Option 2. Find a motorcycle engine and make over the top ridiculous. 20140916_185445.jpg 20140916_185526.jpg 20140916_174144.jpg 20140915_193111.jpg 20140916_185536.jpg |

Fix it. But I would test the motor first to see if that may have been the cause of the fire..

It looks like a resistor coil cart? Is there a row of bed springs (resistor coils) behind the battery bay?

Re: Scoared a free cart! That was on fire!! Please help
Well my skills are only limited to my imagination. So far I have been able to build or do whatever I put my mind too. I have a few good mentors and access to Youtube
How would I test the motor. I was going to jumper it to my 12v Optima last night but ran out of time and didn't get a chance to find a schematic. Can someone tell me how to determine if it is 36v or 48v? Or does it even matter? 20140915_192857.jpg |

Keep in mind this is my first cart. I know nothing about cart but I do know how to wire and am somewhat good at electronics. 20140915_192906.jpg |

Nice score! I have an '88, very easy to work on, simple design. I'm learning just like you, so i'm interested to see how it turns out

In 1994 CC made solid state and resistor coil carts.
All the resistor coil carts were 36v Coils look burnt. Open the V glide - I bet it's burnt too Maybe the cart was free because it needs a new amperage delivery system and batteries. |
