Default Club Car Precedent Light Harness causes cart to run slow

I have a 2010 Club Car Precedent that I purchased. I installed new batteries and a full light kit including turn signals and brake lights. The lights are connected to 48 volts with a 48/12 volt reducer plugged into the harness behind the dash. Everything worked great for about a month then the cart started to run very slowly. Sent it to a cart shop and they replaced Mcor, solenoid and several other things which did not fix the problem. They then discovered when the gray wire from the bucket harness for the lights was unplugged from the main harness behind the dash the problem with the speed went away. They don't know how to fix it and neither do I. I'm sure I need to replace something but what...the bucket harness or the reducer? I would appreciate any help.

Can you not bypass the bucket harness and wire the reducer to the pack?

I could wire a reducer at the battery pack but I'm not sure if that is the problem.

Does your voltage converter have a trigger wire or are you drawing all current from the gray wire?

When you say slow, does it mean limp mode (8mph), or does it cut off while driving and slows down to a stop?

Could you post a picture of the converter you have? It does seem like you may be in limp mode, which is a speed sensor issue.
Try a speed sensor test: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...nsor-test.html

the cart shop says its not the speed sensor, IDQM resets when the gray wire is unplugged and cart returns to normal operation except no lights. Attached is a picture of the reducer I used.

I'm not real familiar with the Precedents, but that reducer plugs into the factory 9-pin harness right? Does the cart run correctly when the reducer is unplugged?

I'm not sure it's still at the cart shop. I'll have it back tomorrow out $300 and still not fixed

Unplugging the gray wire just removes power to the converter trigger wire which causes it to turn its output off. The converter is still attached to the battery pack by the way of the blue wire from the bucket harness.

Have you done any modifications to the converter recently? I saw an earlier post you asked about an 12v accessory plug....

Did the shop measure the voltage output of the converter to see if it is working right?
