Default have to hold accelerator on 2008 club car ds to put lock park brake

I have to hold the accelerator as far up as possible to get the park brake to lock. How do I fix that. I have a 2008 club car ds standard golf cart

That is a sign that the bushings on the brake pedal shaft are worn out. There is too much slack and they move away from the park brake pawl. Used to see this problem when I ran the shop for the local golf course here. When you replace the bearing blocks, look closely and you will probably see the shaft is worn also.
