Default Same Battery keeps dying. NEED HELP!

I have been working on a 99 CC DS. About a 2 Months ago I installed a state of charge meter on it. I ran 2 wires to the battery pack to get 48 volts. About a month after that the cart would not run. I discovered that the battery with the positive lead going to the motor was bad. So I replaced the battery with a new NAPA battery and every thing was fine, But about a month later the same thing happened again. The cart would not run and the same battery was dead.

What would cause this battery to drain down. It is also the battery the positive lead for the charge meter is hooked to. I don't know if it is relevant but the cart seems to be running really slow when it is running. Thanks for the help

If it did not do this before the meter, remove the meter wires and tape them up. Then see what happens

Make sure You have the positive from the charger socket going that battery. It may be dying because you are not charging it.

Sergio knows this is not an uncommon mistake. To check if you have made this wiring error check the pack voltage at the pack main (+) and (-) & again in the charger receptacle. A low reading in the receptacle would indicate such a problem.

Thanks I will check that when I get home. I just looked at a pic of the battery on my phone. It looks like I have the red wire from the charger hooked to the battery in front of it. Maybe when I installed the meter I forgot and put the charging wire on the wrong battery. Just to clarify the charging wire needs to be and the same battery as the charge meter and the + wire going to the more. Am I understanding this right.

The charger positive needs to go to the pack positive.
That is the same battery post connection that goes to your solenoid big post.
It should also be where you plugged the meter.

I think you have uncovered the mystery of the bad batteries.

Thanks guy. Sorry it took so long to give you an update. I feel like a dummy now. When I hooked everything up the first time I put the charging wire on the wrong battery. It is charging now. However the dead battery is weaker than the rest. I check it everyday with my meter and it is stating to build back up to where it should be. It is now reading 8.05 after a full charge. The other are reading 8.54

8.54v I assume we are talking 8v batteries? If you have a 12v with a 2a setting you can charge this one low battery up to match the others, a few times and see if it holds.
