Precedent Overhead Radio Console.
Hey guys,
Installing a overhead console (Radio and Speakers) on a 2010 Precedent. Eight Volt batteries. Is a Voltage Reducer a must or will it be ok to hook up to two batteries. Thanks Again |

Re: Precedent Overhead Radio Console.
Not a good idea at all to tap two batteries as it creates an unbalanced load; this can be an issue with charging and overall battery life. Also not a good idea to be feeding nearest to 17 volts to a unit designed for 12 volts.

Re: Precedent Overhead Radio Console.
It's not a must if you are willing to run a dedicated 12v battery. A 12v source is a must but it can be direct to a 12v battery or a reducer. My batteries are 4x12v setup but I still chose to route my lights and stereo to a 5th dedicated battery I keep in the bagwell.
