Default 1992 Marathon problem

I have a 1992 36 volt Marathon with a 6 month old 400amp Alltrax 36v to 48 volt non-programmable controller. We was using the buggy this weekend on a hunt for disabled folks and the buggy just stopped. I wasn't using it but the folks that were said it just slowed down to a crawl and then just stopped.

The green controller light comes on and the Solenoid clicks when the forward or reverse switch is activated but not when the throttle is pushed. However, when the Pot is activated, the light on the controller turns to red.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be? Motor????

Thanks for any help. I need the buggie in a week for another hunt for disabled folks so I need it fixed as soon as I can

Thanks in advance

If the solenoid clicks without the throttle pedal being pushed, it isn't wired according to the Alltrax diagram. (Attached)

Going to Red when the pedal is pushed might mean the throttle input is over-range.

Pull the Black and White wires off the top of the controller and measure between the wires with an Ohmmeter.
Ought to be about zero Ohms with pedal up and about 5K with pedal down.
If it reads above about 7K, the controller goes into a throttle failure more.

I am only getting 2.5 K on the meter with no more room for adjustment. Would that indicate a bad POT?
