Default 48v on 36v motor

Can you run 48v on a 36v motor? How long will the motor hold up, I know need to change diode, but the rest of my set up is in my signature and what programing to my controller, thanks for the help

It will work great on 48v, how long it will last is roughly tied to how hot you get it & how often. I feel the only electrical part on the cart needing to be changed is a solenoid that is compatible with 48v. I feel the diode and resistor will work just fine. You would also need a 48v charger (forget any ideas of "i'll charge some of them this way, and the others that way", they really need to be treated the same).

If you did not change the default settings before, they should work fine.
