95 ezgo electric w/ melted charer harness
I am a noob so please help out best as possible.
I have a friends 95 EZGO cart that when trying to install new ends for his charger harness on the cart he forgot to disconnect the batteries and melted the harness. I have checked out all the other harness to find in good shape no melted. The solenoid was toast as well as the switchs on the gas pedal. I am having touble getting the solenoid to click. I do not have a wriing diagrahm and the ones i have seen on here, are diff from this cart. I would like some help on what else to try to get this thing to run again. Batteries fully charged, 38.2V total. Backup buzzer has been removed. lift added and 20 inch tires. Nothing else changed. He uses this to feed his cattle and i need to get this thing running best as possible. there is lots of great info on here. thanks for any help. |

Re: 95 ezgo electric w/ melted charer harness
disconnect main pos and neg cable and tape ends before you do anything than replace all cables that need replacing.......you said solenoid was toast? why......if it burnt wires replace them also replace the resistor and diode on the solenoid and the solenoid itself if you have to............check battery voltage clean up connections on charge receptical and plug end and see if cart charges if so charge it and see if it will drive..............post what you find.........i hope it didn,t take controllerr out.................................

Re: 95 ezgo electric w/ melted charer harness
i actuatly think it got the controller, but i have no way to verify that. Is thee any way to verify that the controller is bad. I do not have another similar cart or controller to try. If i buy a controller I cannot return it.
I meant about the solenoid is that it is black and one of the terminals was burnt. I have replaced the necessary cables that were melted/burnt. I replaced solenoid first than i found switch on pedal bad also. I found out last nite that the forward switch on the f-n-r switch was not operating correctly with my DVOM (it stayed OL weither it was closed or open), so i replaced that. The problem I see now is that they are not connected together and most carts i have seen are. |

Re: 95 ezgo electric w/ melted charer harness
if your jumping the solenoid and its running why not just replace that 1st because if the controller were bad it wouldn,t run if you jumped the solenoid......it sounds as if thats your problem a bad solenoid......................

Re: 95 ezgo electric w/ melted charer harness
I have put 3 diff solenoids on it. I know the last one works due to it was on a good working cart.
One of the diag steps in the serv book sates that it is the controller. I will order it and see what haqppens. |
