D&d motor selection with alltrax 500 amp controller
I have a 2005 ezgo pds with alltrax Dcx 500 amp controller and heavy duty solenoid. I currently have the stock motor and am getting 27mph top speed with 23inch tires. Does d and d have a motor that will give me better acceleration and more top end? Worst case scenario I would like to keep top speed the same and add more torque and acceleration. Appreciate the help!

Yes they do. Just give them a call. I have one of their combo torque/speed motors on my '07 PDS with a DCX500 and 6:2 gears on 20" tires and I love it. It's been bullet proof and I've not been kind to it.

Re: D&d motor selection with alltrax 500 amp controller
I run the same ES-76-51 motor Terry mentioned and wholeheartedly agree with his positive assessments of it.
You will have about the same top speed with it as you get with your stock PDS motor, perhaps a little more since it does have far better high end torque than a stock PDS motor. The low end torque is also fantastic. I had to spend some time tweaking the programming of my controller so I didn't spin the tires when I took off from a standstill on grass. However, I'm only running 17" tires while you have 23" tires, so my setup has about 26% more torque where the rubber meets the road. (And about 35% less top speed) Also, I'm running at 42V, which gives me and additional 16.6% in both torque and speed. Like Terry suggested, give D&D a call, they'll help you figure out what is best for you specific application. |

3rd vote for D&D. Call the main number and ask for Eric or Vic in engineering. They will gather info about your cart and goals then spec a motor to meet those goals safely.

4TH for DnD...I'm running a speed/torque motor. Currently it's in its second cart. First cart was a trail boss running 26" tires and was great. Broke 2 rearends from the torque though. It would do 35 mph due to the big tires. Now the motor is in a lowered series ezgo on 14's. It will do just shy of 30 mph. I've had the motor for about 6 years without any problems at all.
