Default Cart Smells?

I have a 2001 TXT series cart that I customized for hunting and trail riding, I am really happy with its trail abilities and looks the way I wanted it, I put on a voltmeter, 6" lift, 22" tires, flares, convex mirror and new windshield, 2 gauge wires on batteries and 6 new batteries. all other components are stock Runs great! my problem is the sulfur smell when I drive it, the trails are hilly and loose sand, I have seen voltage drop as low as 30 volts on very steep hills, is this smell normal or is something wrong with my mods or batteries or what? Thanks for any help you can give.

No it's not normal for it to smell when driving. Maybe a bit when charging. Are you getting any acid leakage?

no leakage that is noticeable, i have noticed similar smell while charging but not as strong as when driving, it didn't have this problem with old batteries

Just for giggles, check....and I mean look very closely, at where your that go from your controller\F/R switch to the motor. Specifically where they wrap around the corner of the battery cage. Just make sure the cable did not rub thru this corner and your getting some intermittent shorting here. Just a SWAG on my part.

I'd throw out there to check all connections and that they are clean as well. Check all your cables for browning/burning. Sounds like sumptin is heating things up but I am a rookie....
