Replaced bad battery but cart wont last
My ezgo has 6 6v Trojan 105 batteries, 4-5 years old. It was working up until a I let it sit for a month without charging. It recently got VERY cold around 10-32 degrees the last week and so i went out and threw the charger on the golf cart.
Next day I went to run it, and it would run for a minute or so then completely died, making loud sounds like its trying to move but barely moving itself. I put the tester on each battery and noticed one of the batteries was way low, terminal corroded as well. I individually charged it back up, cart ran great for a about 2 minutes then completely died again. So i went out and bought a brand new trojan 105 and hooked it up. Now I have 1 new battery and 5 older batteries, they are all holding the same levels but the cart only seems to last about 5 minutes before it dies again. Do i need 5 new batteries ? or am i missing something? |

Buy 5 more batteries. Adding a new battery to old batteries makes new battery old real fast.

That's a common story. The batteries were near the end of their expected service life when you let them sit at a low charge & the temp dropped. It's a double whammy. They were too old to survive. Charging the new battery with the old ones will shorten it's useful life. Your committed now.

The"B" brothers say something, LISTEN- JohnnieB and ScottyB aretwo people that have most of the most useful info on here- I wasted $190 on two batteries adding them to another older 6 batteries (48V system) and wund up having to replace all 8 batteries- I might have gone out and thrown the money on the street, out the window or in the fire it was wasted- this is My Oppinion
