Alltrax DCX400 PDS Installed On 06 TXT PDS
Hi, I Finally Installed The Alltrax On My Stock 2006 EZGO TXT PDS 36V Cart. The Installation Went Smoothly And Without Incident. The Entire Set Up Fits Perfectly Under The Stock Controller Cover,Thus Keeping My Stock Tow/Run Feature. All That's Left Is To Swap Out The 6ga Cables For 4ga.The Results To Me At Least Are Outstanding,The 20% Torque Increase & 24 MPH Top Speed Are Exactly What I Needed For The Very Hilly Terrain That I Encounter While Cruising.I Must Add That During The Installation I Used Extreme Care & Made Sure That First The Power Was Disconnected ,The Batteries Were Covered Completely,I Even Used A Plastic Cased Work Light & Insulated Tools.A Bit Of An Overkill But, Worth It When I Hooked Up The Power & The Controller LED Light Gave Me The GREEN LIGHT!Many Thanks To evdrives.com,The buggiesgonewild Members Who Gave Me Advice,& To My Good Friend & Neighbor Ken Who Only Days Before Installed An EZGO Freedom Bar Light Kit & Battery Meter On My Cart For Me..........

From looking at that picture, you have a problem. The fuse you have installed is not protecting the pack or the controller. All it is doing is protecting the white wire, which I would assume to be the positive feed from the charge receptacle.

Glad you found some useful help. Not trying to tell you your buisness but I would protect my investment by making sure that fuse is in the right place....it does look like it's on the charging circuit.

Re: Alltrax DCX400 PDS Installed On 06 TXT PDS
Thanks, Where Should It Be Placed???According To The Alltrax Fuse Installation Guide QUOTE The Fuse May Be Installed Anywhere In The Battery String OR At Either + Or -End Of Battery Pack Where It Connects To The Controller Or Solenoid. All I Did Is Replace The Factory 60amp Fuse With The 250 Amp That Came With The Alltrax Controller. The Picture In The Guide Shows A Single Black Wire Coming Off The Fuse? Where Did I **@# Up???? ANY IDEAS,ANYONE?? Thankyou.

One end of the fuse attaches to the battery terminal. No other wires can be attached to this point, JUST the fuse. Now attach the wires you want to protect to the other end of the fuse. This forces the current to travel THROUGH the fuse instead of around it.

That is correct. You placed the fuse in the charging circuit not in the battery string. Gorno is 100% correct. Bolt the fuse to the pack's positive 36 volt connection without anything else bolted to it....then connect everything to the fuse. At that point the fuse will be protecting everything.

If it's running you didn't hurt a thing. It's extra insurance in case something does happen.
Some people (such as myself) who don't read the instructions run without any fuse at all. It is not reccomended though. |

Is this for real? I was under the impression all adding a controller would do is increase torque and have very little effect on speed. Thought it took a higher RPM motor to do that?

In My Defense, I'm An OLD GEEZER,& As My Wife Just Now Told Me So Eloquently,"YOU'RE TOO STUPID TO LIVE".I Agree! Thanks All,It's Now 7:09PM & Way Past My Bedtime................
