Default 2009 EZ Go yea or nea?

So I have the chance to buy a cart that looks good but will not charge. The batts are a little over a year old but have not been charged for 13/14 months.
I can buy it for 1k. So if the batteries need replacing I will need to add another 6 to 7 hundred to the total. Is this worth it or should I find something running? Seems like a steal but I know 0 about these things.

I would say $1700 total is a pretty sweet deal for an '09, if its in good shape. Although the batteries are likely shot, i would still try manually charging them with a automotive charger first (the golf cart charger will not activate if the batts voltage gets too low) before pulling them out.

If you can pick up an 09 I assume TXT for a grand you had better jump on that. Even if it does have some issues they can be fixed. And you should be able to pick up batteries cheaper than that..

if it LOOKS good.....crawl under it and see what the frame looks like (look for rust/corrosion), then check out the battery tray/rack for rust/corrosion, if it looks solid. What drive system does it have? Series or Sepex? do you intend to loft it? put bigger wheels/tires of it? are you wanting to put a back seat on it and carry 4 people? These questions you need to ask yourself.....as some carts are better than others.

NOW, if you are just going to use it as it sits for its designed purpose.....then its a no brainer and the rust/corrosion test was past or is at least minimal, GET IT

If you don't want it please let us know. I'm sure one of us on this board would buy it.

I bought it today, it was my x-wife's fathers and he passed away so it has been sitting for a year. The frame and body are in excellent hape but the batts are hardly used but have hardly any juice. 2 volts and 1 volt. Can they be reconditioned or is that a waste of time and $ ?

I would say they are good for cores or a door stop, not a battery..

I would still try to charge them with a car-type charger, just to see. then when their voltage comes up some, try the cart charger. Its not gonna hurt anything to try. Might cost you 15 cents in electricity to try. But, yes, plan on batteries. I have seen some miracles with dead batts.

I will give it a try but what and where should I buy a new set of bats. I saw a ad on craiglist for Powertron P2000 for $500 or Trojan T-105 for $635. Plus tax. Is this high or low or what? This is for 2014 new bats. Last time I looked it was 2015.
