Default Best Way to lock up golfcart - Prevent Theft

IF I am going to be parking my cart in public say at the beach or pool, aside from removing key what have you found to be the best way to keep it from getting taken?

*hidden kill switch

*removable steering wheel

*tazer under drivers seat. just don't forget to disable it before you drive it!

If it is going to be left unattended in a public place with people present, a uniquely keyed keyswitch may be sufficient.

Available for carts without lights also.

A determined thief can steal most anything, if given the time and opportunity, so the trick is to deny time and/or opportunity, or both.

And then don't tell anybody what you've done.

I actually just saw this yesterday but it looks like they are only for Club Cars

http://www.thecartkey.com/

I just use a long thick bike lock wrapped around the rim to the steering wheel.

Since cart model is not listed, i'll go ahead and say what i used to do when mine was frequently parked in public. My marathon had arm rests mounted to the body, not the seat, so any bicycle cable lock was perfect for a steering wheel-to-arm rest connection. If you have a RXV, its super easy, just remove the plug on the bottom of the cupholder area. Many people who do know that most all ezgo takes same key (so they brought the most common 4 cart keys), dont think about the plug for the bottom on rxv. You cant make anything "un-steal-able", but you can make it less a sitting-duck.

I bring mine to the races often and I run a 3/8, grade 8 chain through the two front wheels. Yes they can just remove the wheels, but at least they would have to work at it.

I use the "Valet-Switch" idea on mine.I tuck it inside the.dash, where you cant see it,you have to feel for it,but its not.noticeable that you are doing it when climbing on/off the cart.Just take the lead goimg to your key-switch,split it,and run the wire thru the Valet.Works great,i even forgot and spent 1/2 hr trying to figure out why it was dead after i parked it out back for a week or so.
