Default 09' RXV At top speed shuts down?

Need some help, I have a 2009 RXV and when the cart is running at top speed it will shut down and coast to a low speed and sometimes run at a low speed, sometimes not, so then I need to turn the key off and back on and the cart is back to normal for about a minute and repeat??? Also when it shuts down at top speed I can put the key in neutral and the brake does not engage?
Upgrades:
I have a chip for top speed installed

That usually indicates a battery problem, but without pulling the error codes with handheld programmer, its hard to say. Lots of different things can cause "limited operating strategy" on a RXV.

CGTECH ..... Yep bad battery.

Danaher controller on 2009 --- No speed chip. Just programming through handheld programmer.

I Bet that "gas gauge" drops from full to 3/4 or less quickly.

1) check pack voltage.
2)check each battery voltage.

Look for 3 batteries to show 12.4v and 1 battery to show aprox 11v. (bad one)

might have to run cart a little to find bad batt.

What type of batts?
How old are batts?
How were they maintained?
Do (did) they have a bulk watering system?

Checked all the cells on the batteries ( Trojan 1260 Plus )with a hydrometer and found one bad cell.( 1100 on the bad cell and 1275+ on all he other cells)
Couple of questions.
1)Would that cause the issue?
2)Any way to recondition a single bad cell ( i've made calls and having trouble finding the same battery ..Kauai is tuff to find
3) If I replace the bad battery with a Trojan 1275 with 150 amp hr ( 1260 has 140 amp hr) will it that cause an issue?
4) Lastly the battery guy stated that if one cell is going bad it's just the beginning of the other batteries following suite. He suggested to replace all the batteries. ( $750.00 )

There isnt a cell refurbishing technique that i know of that works. How old are the batts? Mixing new and old batteries, or batteries of different capacity is throwing your cash down the toilet. I would also suggest a new set if your batts are older than about 3 yrs old, if you cant find a suitable matching used replacement for your bad one.

Ditto CG...
Personally I would recommend Crown batts.
We get great reliability an service life from them..

Trojan seems to have a problem with their 12v batts.
Google EZ-GO vs Trojan ---- Big time lawsuit over 12v batts.

I agree strongly with replacing all batts if over 3 years old.
Take good care of your new crowns and you should get 4+ years out of them.

What was voltage on good vs bad batts?
Did you notice "gas" gauge dropping to 3/4 quickly?
