Okay, so he has garnet in his blood.. Former USC grad myself.. Shipping a 1200lb cart might get pricey..

As for RXV vs TXT, I have owned both. RXV with the AC motor pulls like a beast but the early ones scared me. Too expensive to replace the controller if it went south. The newer models seem to be much better and reliable. I also have seen where for what ever reason when EZ-Go is rebuilding a bunch of these for redeployment they are swapping the entire rear end out. It is sad to see entire diffs going in the dumpster..

Who said it had to go in the dumpster. Every one of those has a posi unit that will fit in most any dana cart axle with zero modification.

That would be EZGo.. Interesting on the posi unit.. May have to go diving..

And I do know an RXV axle can be used on a txt with a little grinding,,

I was talking about swapping the ring gear carrier (posi unit) into pretty much all other dana cart axles. A rxv axle housing has no brake mounting provisions, would have to be added. My marathon axle housing has a rxv posi in it, i have also put rxv posi's in G22 yamaha axle housings. No modifications needed.

You guys are talking over my head! Lots of dealers flood craigslist with their golfcarts. What is the year I should look at when buying an EZGO RXV? 2010+?

2012.5 model year and newer. The older model with danaher controller is quiclky getting more difficult/expensive to get electronics for. Plus, the newer curtis model rxv is much more programmable. Heres an easy way to identify the two instantly, A rxv has a plastic cover over the motor controller and a aluminum heatshield just behind that. The newer model has a powdercoated black aluminum cover, the older model had a raw aluminum heatshield.

Can the older, specifically 2011 model, be upgraded to the newer curtis setup, if there is ever a time that it should need it? I thought I read that it could be somewhere.

I have a 2011 which was programmed to the fast/high setting. Plenty of get up and go juice. My only complaint would be reverse doesn't have the torque that forward does. Does anyone know if the reverse can be programmed to a higher setting?

Yes it can be converted to "curtis", but the controller / adapter box required is crazy money (over $1k easy). And only available from ezgo currently. Not much available for tuning reverse with your "danaher", curtis is fully programmable in reverse.

We have had great success with danaher controller carts.
While the newer curtis controller is a good idea, The danaher controller
is a solid no problems controller.

Is a replacement curtis controller that much less expensive than a conversion from danaher to curtis kit?

And is the possibility of maybe needing the upgrade worth spending more money now for a curtis controller cart?

I see no reason to shy away from older RXV's....

This is a personal preference... newer vs older cart
End user/real world.... not much difference between carts.

Either cart will be a good ride

Good luck...
Keep us posted...
