Default RXV Charging question

Newbie with a charging question. I have been reading the suite for a while and this is the first time I have asked a question. I have a 2011 RXV that seems to discharge faster then what it normally did. Fully charged I am getting 59 volts total and around 14.6 on each battery. Today the power dropped sharply and the meter dropped to almost zero charge. I stopped turn the key off and back on and the meter went back up to 3/4 plus charge. I had to do this a couple more times in order to finish the round of golf. Once I got home I checked the batteries before putting it on the charger and I am still getting 59.1 total and between 14.1 and 14.6 on each battery. I know the batteries are 4 years old and will probably need to be replaced soon but I am wondering if it is something else.

Thanks for your help

What you are describing is battery failure.
When "gas gauge" falls, check each battery voltage immediately.

If batts were in cart from golf course with bulk watering system, probably back battery.

You should replace all batteries at this point since all are weak. Don't just replace 1 bad battery.

Seriously look at non trojan batteries.

See posts from johnnieB for battery info.

Good luck...

Thanks for the reply. The batteries are not on a water system. I will double check the water levels again in the morning after charging and I guess I will start shopping for batteries. Any know of batteries deals and/or vendors in the Austin area?

Was cart from golf course? (Most used golf carts)
They probably used a watering system if it was.
Check batteries voltage or check batts with hydrometer when cart is "acting up"
to be sure... maybe have battery folks load check them.

4 years is about right for 12v trojans to croak.

Cart was not from a golf course. Bought it from a friend who bought new from EZGO. I did check the batteries again today and did find some of the cells a little low on water so topped them off to the max level. Will continue to monitor. In the mean time I did stop by the local Autozone, they said that they had Duralast batteries that would work. Has anyone had any experience with them? I could not find anything when doing a search of the website.

Filling to so-called "max level" does nothing to increase range or battery health, but it will maximize the corrosion on your batteries, frame & garage floor. Always keep the fluid level between about 1/4" above the plates, and 1/4" below vent neck in battery (i prefer closer to the lower level to avoid battery messes). If the fluid is low, and the batts are not fully charged, add just enough to cover the plates (the fluid increases in volume in relationship with state of charge). Get a Hydrometer, and check readings.
