Stained driveway?
I changed out my battery pack recently on my driveway. The batteries and tray were pretty corroded. It left nasty stains on my driveway.
Any ideas on best way to remove the stain? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1426521137.385794.jpg |

Re: Stained driveway?
pressure washer,
but actually the easiest way is to get that hose end attachment stuff you can buy at lowes and just spray it with that. May take two applications but it actually works pretty well. |

Re: Stained driveway?
Murriatic acid will reduce the stain considerably. But it may also change the hue of the original concrete so it may be necessary to treat the entire drive.

well I have never used if for that, HOWEVER, you are correct, you can find it at most Marine supply shops....and believe it or not, you can buy it on Amazon......a gallon will run you about $33. Its available in 32 oz. bottles as well.

Re: Stained driveway?
My drive was so dirty that I didn't see the rust from the batteries until it was pressure washed. I tried just about everything. Then I was in the grocery store one day and saw something called "GoofOff rust remover." It was cheap, so I said what the heck and tried it. It worked better than anything else I had tried, but left the concrete a bit white for a while until it weathered in.

Re: Stained driveway?
Thanks for all the suggestions. I tried pressure washing and CLR....but didn't work. I just ordered "GoofOff"....seemed to be the best priced.
I'll post back with results. |

Re: Stained driveway?
Be aware all those products have acid and will etch the concrete,
flush it well. |
