What error?
Flash pattern shows the problem.

Powerwise QE and Delta Q Charger Fault Codes

LED OPERATION CODES:
SHORT GREEN FLASH = less than 80% charged
LONG GREEN FLASH = more than 80% charged
SOLID GREEN = 100% charged
RED FLASH = fault code

LED FAULT CODES:
RED FLASH: Light turns on briefly, but does not
flash after that – check for valid AC voltage.

ONE RED FLASH: One flash, a pause and then
again one flash and a pause – Charge Enable
Fault: poor contact in the DC connector or dirty
contacts or Battery Temperature Fault: battery
temperature is greater than 122° F (50° C) or less
than 14° F (-10° C).

TWO RED FLASHES: Two flashes, a pause and
then again two flashes and a pause – Battery Voltage
Fault: Battery pack is less than 36.0 Volts or
more than 67.2 Volts. Battery pack is too discharged
or over charged for the charger to work.

THREE RED FLASHES: Three flashes, a pause
and then again three flashes and a pause – Battery
Charge Time-out: Charge time exceeded 24
hours. This may indicate a problem with the battery
pack or that the charger output current was
severely reduced due to high ambient temperatures.

FOUR RED FLASHES: Four flashes, a pause and
then again four flashes and a pause – Battery
Fault: Charge time exceeded. This indicates a
problem with the battery pack voltage not reaching
the required nominal level within the maximum
time allowed.

SIX RED FLASHES: Six flashes, a pause and
then again six flashes and a pause – Charger
Fault: An internal fault has been detected. If this
fault is displayed again after unplugging the
charger’s DC power cord and plugging it back in,
the charger must be taken to a qualified service
center.

I hope theses charger fault codes can help you figure out the problems you are having.

On the right track, but not entirely true.

The best type charger uses dV/dT (Change in Voltage over change in Time) to determine when the batteries are fully charged. (The best of the best, also go into a float charge mode after the regular charge cycle terminates.)

Chargers like the Powerwise QE and the like, use dV/dT technology, but uses a switch mode powersupply to reduce the AC line voltage down to the DC voltage level used to charge the batteries. Some charger manufacturers have designs that are robust and reliable ( Delts-Q for instance), but others such as the Powerise-QE family and Pro-tech, have some reliability issues.

DPI and Quick Charge and similar chargers combine old school technology (a step-down transformer) with the new school technology (dV/dT output circuitry) to produce a charger that is reliable and fully charges the batteries.

The legacy chargers (ferroresonant transformer type) do have a transformer, are reliable and nearly 100% repairable, but cut off at a preset voltage selected to almost fully charge most batteries without overcharging weak/old batteries while not seriously undercharging New/healthy batteries. Basically, it is a compromise that does not fully charge batteries.

Also, nearly all of the legacy chargers are designed to charge Trojan batteries and clones. If you have US Battery batteries, you need to use a charger that has a charge profile designed to charge them.

Personally, I rank the chargers the have a step-down transformer and dV/dT output technology at the top of the list, the ferroresonant transformer type chargers next and the switch mode type in last place (with the qualification that charge made by some charger manufacturers will tie for first place)

Had the same issue/error code last year. How old are the batteries? My batteries were 4 years old. When I checked the specific gravity I had several dead cells probably due to poor maintenance (fleet cart). I put in new batteries and it fully charged right up. Not saying to go buy new batteries but testing testing voltages and specific gravity of each cell is a starting point.
