Default Troubleshooting an Alltrax NCX300DCS

LED light on the controller blinks green at first, then blinks red 6 times, what does this mean?

The number of green flashes indicates the throttle type setting. This should match the code for your cart. 6 red flashes indicates battery under voltage detected

Hmmm, I have 6 under a year old Trojans batteries?! And I keep them charged at all times, what could cause this problem

Check the voltage of the pack and each battery. Ideally 12 hours after a charge, but a bad battery should show up regardless. Each battery should be within .1 volts of the others. Just 'cause they're new, doesn't mean they're good. Also, any bad, corroded, dirty cables will reduce the available voltage.

If you don't have one, a handheld digital multimeter (DMM) should be in your toolbox. They can be bought for ten to twenty dollars at any local hardware store, and probably at any automotive store, as well as most department stores with an automotive and/or hardware section.

Online even cheaper.

Ok I checked all batteries read 6.3, so now what could it be?

That adds up to a pack voltage of 37.8V, or a SoC (State of Charge) of about 88.5%, so you may want to review your charging protocol.

Check the voltage on Pins 6, 9 & 10 on top of controller, they should all be full pack voltage. (You might have to lift the 10-pin plug slightly to get the test probe on the pins.)

If any are significantly less than pack voltage, you can get the under-volt error.

Attached is a schematic of a DCX/NCX in a DCS.

JohnnieB.....If he has 6, Six Volt batteries and each battery is showing a 6.3-V SOC then he is at 100% charge if he's running a 36 volt system. Yes?

But, according to the Alltrax NCX Mini Manual, six red blinks does indicate that 6 Red = Battery under voltage detected. Battery V < under voltage slider. I wonder if he has some type of short that is occurring when he turns his key on or hits the peddle? But, I'm assuming he has a 36 volt system.

At the individual battery level, 0.01V makes a difference.

Six times 6.3 is 37.8, which is 88.5% SoC for Trojan batteries. (37.85V is 90% on the attached chart, but I've got it interpolated to 1% increments and 37.8 falls halfway between 88% and 89%)
Tossing out the little stuff, his batteries are under 90%, so they have been sitting for a few days, or his charger isn't charging them as high as it should be.

You cannot adjust the under volt slider on a NCX, and I'm not sure you can connect a computer to a NCX to see what the settings are.

In a DCS, the controller powers up (LED illuminates) on when the Run/Tow is in Run, Keyswitch is ON and a direction is selected with the F/R.

I'm inclined to suspect the voltage on Pin 6, 9 or 10 is low rather than missing since the LED does illuminate. There are something like five sets of switch contacts, over a dozen connections and a sonic weld in the three circuits feeding those three pins that could have excessive resistance and cause the problem.

Of course, there are some other possibilities, there always is, but I usually try to eliminate the most likely suspects first.
