Default 36 to 48 volts

I should be getting my 1996 FLeet series tonight. It has a 4 inch lift with 22 inch tires. I saw portions of Gornomans 48 volt conversion but, and not sure how he accomplished this(hint-Gornoman are you there?) and was still able to use the 36 volt charger. Also, what can you guys tell me about 2 speed motors? I understand the priciple, but are they just a compromise between toque and speed? I will be taking the cart off road (mildly) and am looking for more torque than speed (if I have to choose) and am comtemplaining going to 48 volts. Any insight would be appreciated.

you may want to g one step at a time. You may be quite happy with your old 36v series motor running on 48v for mild off-road..... Gorno used a 36 and a 12v charger........

How is the wiring configured to keep the 12 and 36 volt systems seperated. Wait a second......if I concentrate real hard...and think... ok. The 12 and 36 volt arrangements are not seperated, just the charging system? Can anyone send a diagram to confirm or correct?

Thanks ScottyB,
Do you know anything about two speed motors, such as benefits, or shortcommings. It sounds like the best of both worlds-speed and torque, but I dont know.

I have not driven one but, the reviews I read here are all positive. Use the search on the blue bar above to find 2 speed motor discussions....
