Question Ok, got the bad boy/EZGO up on stands this weekend

I can get it to go into reverse, but when I put it in forward, it will spin about 3 or 4 times and locks up-

We are going to pull the Boots off of the front Drive CV Joints and take a hard look at them

then drop the differential pan-

since it is up in the air, I want to see why it is so **** hard to steer?

My Son said something last fall and I had forgotten about that,

also found a front passenger's side shock broken

I will try to get a video of it tonight

thanks again for all the suggestions

I am really curious to know what went wrong here. Good luck. I did pull my front end apart to get some measurements and could not figure out what would have broken to cause your symptoms.

My only guess is a cv joint.

One quick question. Do you have four or five wheel studs on the front end? Mine has a five bolt pattern.

When I got home yesterday, I had a glass of adult beverage and sat there and looked at the front axle.

Being a 4 wheel drive, with drive axles and CV joints, I am wondering how this comes apart- Any suggestions?

Mr Revolution it is a 4 lug wheel on the cart

What is unique, is in reverse, it will spin like a wild thing,

put it in forward and you get 3 or 4 revolutions and bang locks up

I am really leaning towards bad cv joint on that side

It is supposed to rain like hell this week in st. Louis, so it will be a Friday afternoon before I can get to it-

I am going to release the bands that hold the CV joint boot on and slide it outward or inward-

It will probably inward, because the larger section is closer to the wheel

I am thinking there has to be a retention clip holding the unit into the Hub?

My next thought, is where the heck do I go to by the CV joints---?

We have a number of large industrial parts house here in St. Louis and I will take it off and take the CV joint in with me

I simply do not believe, Ezgo/badboy had someone build a specific CV joint for these carts. I hope they went out and got an existing joint and then attached the axle

Its amazing what happens when you are not used to drinking adult beverages anymore and you mind relaxes and Ideas will flow- LOLOLOL
Sounds like a good reasoning to have another adult beverage

Just make sure the key is off and in Tow mode before you stick your fingers in there..

I don't know it these pictures will help or not, I took them as notes to try and find parts for my BBB. Yours is probably different since you have 4 lug hubs.[IMG][/IMG]

It would be nice to know where to get parts when they break. I plan on visiting my local drive shaft shop soon to try and figure out what BBB used. I will post any info I get.

WOW excellent Sir
thank you

It looks like you have also taken trips down to the river also

The Youtube page looks similar to My Radio partners videos- No not that kind of partner

I help produce an Outdoor radio show, with Ray Eye - Eyes on the Outdoors"

We are on Saturday Mornings, from 8 to 10 central time- 1380 am in the st.louis area and on WWW.talkstl.com, live streaming - well except when a recording goes bad- Saturday we had a couple prerecorded interviews and the one read 7 minutes and 15 seconds, well we got to 3 minutes and 41 seconds and then dead air- Sure glad I have back up outdoor news stories- LOLOLOL

Just an observation. Never trust a jack. Use jack stands. They're cheap insurance, not just for your buggy, but for you as well.

Wholeheartedly agree sir- had a van slide off a jack, when changing a tire on the side of a road- a Big rig went by and wham, it broke my foot, luckily somebody driving by, saw me flopping on the ground like a fish out of water, Sure glad they stopped

I bet it was more than 10 minutes before the man stopped, and of course my cell phone was on the seat INSIDE the van
