Default Intermittent Reverse

I have a TXT, not sure of year, tag says F298 MFG date, and serial number 1095655

I have forward all the time but when I select "R" the cart still goes forward. If I move the selector lever several times I get reverse. Yesterday while moving in reverse the cart jumped into the forward mode.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

The serial number says you have a 1998 TXT DCS.

The DCS controller defaults to Forward, so you are loosing the voltage from the Reverse microswitch on the F/R switch assembly to Pin-4 (Orange wire) on the controller.

Since it jumped out of reverse while moving in reverse, I'm more inclined to suspect an intermittent connection between the switch and controller than the switch itself.

However here is the parts breakdown for the F/R assembly.

Connect your DVM to Pin-4, put cart in reverse and start wiggling the orange wire.
