What Tools do you Carry for the ride
What tools do you carry onboard your cart?
What do you store them in for transport? Insulated? Non insulated? 1/2, 9/16 inch open ended or boxed ended wrenches Combination 1/2 - 9/16 inch Just trying to get an idea of what I should pack onboard. I am sure someone will have something I haven't thought of. |

Re: What Tools do you Carry for the ride
I like multi function tools. Like a crescent wrench ( one each large and small). A multi tip screwdriver. (Klien 10 tip) and Channel locks big and small... spare fuses if your cart is so equipped. And trusty needle nose pliers.
Don't forget the cell phone, comfortable shoes, and a bottle of water for the walk home if needed. |

Re: What Tools do you Carry for the ride
I am going to edit the below as the list gets better and grows.
These are tools that are recommended to have on hand, possibly onboard your cart at all times. So if you are stuck away from home base or away from where you would normally have tools...you can do something to fix whatever maintenance issue you might have. Obviously everyone will not need some or most of the tools below, since they will always be nearby a location that can give assistance. But the goal is to build a comprehensive list to give others an idea of what could be stowed away for whatever future event they may encounter. 1. Small zippered tool bag or other form of ability to store your tools, you can stow this inside the battery compartment or glove box. 2. 1/2, 9/16 inch wrenches Insulated or not, your choice, but ensure you have the size wrenches that fit your battery posts and any mods you have. Most carts will need 1/2 and 9/16 inch at a minimum 3. Wire crimpers 4. Wire strippers 5. Needle Nose Pliers 6. Channel Locks, big and small 7. Crescent Wrench; big and small 8. Muilt-tip Screw driver (Klien 10 tip) 9. Knife 10. Spare fuses if your cart is equipped 11. If you do not check your batteries often (for shame), a small wire brush to clean off terminal posts 12. Small roll of single #16 AWG wire; approx. 10 ft.; (your call, you know your cart better than anyone else) 13. Flashlight 14. It is a good idea to keep your cell phone charged 15. Come Along & Tow Strap; for those of you who try to get stuck 16. Leatherman to replace some of the tools above 17. Electrical Tester |

Leatherman
Set of deep well sockets and ratchet in a case. (Small set) Screwdriver if Leatherman fails CO2 air kit for tires Tire repair plug kit Spare tire on a rim if entire tire comes off rim. (Ask me how I know this ) This is bolted to the cart behind the seat....I have no rear seat. Piece of 12" rebar in case there is no tree handy to attach winch to. Hey...it happens. Big rocks are usually around to pound rebar into ground. Spare fuses. Note....more than one fuse. (Don't ask why) I keep all this stuff (except the spare tire....that goes when I go hunting) in a large green military ammo container. They are cheap, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Military-Sur...-/190917949207 and they are sealed with a rubber grommet to keep moisture out. Just bungie 'em to your cart...or bolt 'em if you like. |

Re: What Tools do you Carry for the ride
DaveTM, that was great! Never would have thought to have all that tire repair stuff. You can probably open up a shop out in the woods and have some start up inventory.
Is that CO2 air kit, like a can of Fix-a-Flat? or a dedicated can of CO2? What do you use the sockets for? I do not use ratchet/sockets on battery posts or to tighten down the junky bolts that most mods come with. For fear of stripping the threads or popping the battery lug off. Just curious. The rebar is very smart for those people who have a winch. |

Dang, my idea was to keep updating the post above with all the new items people would suggest. And then put them into categories.
I did not realize you can only edit a single post 1-2 times. Now I know... |

Re: What Tools do you Carry for the ride
I forgot about tire plugs
I carry them ever since I got a hole in my tire. I had to rob a screw from somewhere on the cart and put it in the tire to drive home |
