EZGO Security
What is the cheapest easiest way to make sure nobody takes off with your EZGO at the beach? All keys are made the same.

Re: EZGO Security
Hide another flip switch under the seat, or install a second non EZ-GO key switch either under the seat, or in the drivers side of the storage compartment.

Re: EZGO Security
Install a clearly marked on off switch next to the key switch... file the switch plate tooth off so the 'on/off' plate rotates around 180º. Now you have a convenient on/off switch that work opposite of what it is marked. That's gonna stop 99% of the people.
Or spend the $ for a unique key switch. |

Re: EZGO Security
I am a computer nerd, not savvy with all of these fixes. Anyone have a video or a link to what you guys are referring to?

Re: EZGO Security
go to google and type in EZGO unique key switch...see what you get
also you can put a switch in line with the charger safety line on my cart that is the third wire that runs from the charging socket there is a spade lug at each end, just unplug the connection there and the cart won't run, most crooks will move over to the next cart |

Re: EZGO Security
Find an old 3.5" floppy drive. Cut just the front "pretty" part off. Glue it just under your key. Print out a colorful piece of paper that says "Insert starting operating disc here prior to start function". Laminate that paper and tape in under the key switch.

Re: EZGO Security
Dave, the scary part is some of these folks may not know what a floppy is ...
USC, you could just get a 6 ft security cable through the axle and a wheel.. Kind of a pain but it wont move.. |

Re: EZGO Security
5" floppy (do with that as you will) You should see my hard drive... Unplug and take the plug with green & red wires from the bottom of the cupholder area. Unless they brought one of those with them too, they arent going anywhere. Cost- $0. But Only works with RXV (your cart model was not specified).

Re: EZGO Security
I haven't done this, but if I ever do I would just put a switch somewhere out of sight on the cart. Probably under the cup holders that way I don't have to raise the seat all the time.
