New to Ezgo Opinions needed
Hi everyone, I am an avid golfer and have always had a club car except for a marathon about 10 years ago and a western which has an ezgo chassis.
This summer I am having a lot of family visit for an extended period of time and two are golfers. On my course you use your own carts. I was thinking about buying a second cart rather than renting one. I have found a 1996 ezgo TXT freedom. It is 36 volt. It an older gentleman in another country club who drove it from home to the tennis courts about a mile away since he bought it brand new. He said batteries were replaced about a year ago. It has lights, windshield, rain enclosures and horn. It is white with white seats. The daughter says it is in excellent shape. I got him down to $1250 delivered (an hour and a half away) Are these carts pretty reliable? Anything special to look for when I go tomorrow? I am hoping to use it for the summer and then sell it because I wont need it anymore. Think I can get my money back at that price?? All opinions welcomed! Thanks!! Stock - it is a slow reliable cart. They came in 2 different drive systems. Series and DCS. DCS had a toggle switch on the control cover.

Can you tell the drive system from the serial number or manufacture code in the glove box? I got both from the seller.

Hmm, I don't think so. Either one will work for what you want to do.

Doesn't seem to tell me model just that TXT freedom means factory lights? Useful tool though I appreciate that!

Re: New to Ezgo Opinions needed
Here is a quote by cgtech 'Many txt and all rxv that are "freedom" also means speed upgrade from the factory to 19mph. On a txt, the stock motor will say on the label "flt spd" =14mph, or "hi spd" =19mph."

Re: New to Ezgo Opinions needed
If it doesn't say DCS it probably is a series cart. Both will have the shift lever by the knee but DCS will have a Run/Tow switch.. Both will be fine for what you want to do with it
