Charger port disconnected
I disconnected the wiring from the charger port to the batteries in order to remove the body. The cart does not run with the charger port disconnected. I assume this is normal?

That is where the solenoid activation circuit gets it power from, so yes that is normal.

Early TXT models had a charger plug interconnect safety switch, known as a reed switch. The small white with red stripe wire goes to the F&R micro switch. You can make the cart run by supplying (positive+) 36v to the F&R micro switch
