2009 48v RXV stopped dead - clicks in Neutral key position
we bought a used 2009 RVX 48 volt cart a couple years back. We have been using the cart and charging it religiously, but today, after a couple days of rain, the cart has decided it will not move. My charger shows the batteries are fully charged. When I turn the key to the On position, instead of the single click, I get 3-4 louder clicks. The reverse tone goes off when turned, but I have nothing when I push the "gas" pedal. I don't pretend to be an electrician, so I am completely at a loss as to what could be the problem... Help?

Re: 2009 48v RXV stopped dead - clicks in Neutral key position
Well, I found the solenoid on Amazon for $17, going to see if replacing it helps, worst case, I am out $17. Anyone know what the voltage should be across the main terminals on the solenoid with the key on? I have good voltage on all the batteries (12volts +/- half a volt).

Re: 2009 48v RXV stopped dead - clicks in Neutral key position
You can try the appropriate RXV troubleshooting guide available here, but only try it if you truly know your way around a digital volt meter. It still offers a lot of valuable testing info, even without a handheld scanner, but you gotta be pretty handy with electrical & electronics, or you could get yourself into (more) expensive troubles.

Re: 2009 48v RXV stopped dead - clicks in Neutral key position
after a third check of the batteries, the 2nd battery is reading 9.6 volts, even though it read over 12 earlier, so it appears to be battery related - not enough power to crank over the solenoid. We bypassed the battery and jumped it with a car to test, golf cart started right up and moved! Going to go find a spare battery until we can replace them all.
