Every motor is a bit different. I spoke at length with Chuck and Andrea about what my customer expects from the cart from a performance standpoint as well as the voltage and the amps that will run through it. They built the motor basically to spec.

Had a couple of hours today to sneak away and get some work done... this thing needs to be delivered by the 20th or so... not a big deal - but there is still a bunch to do.

Got the lift finished - but managed to strip the nut off of the forward rear leaf spring attachement - eneded up having to cut it off and stick a screwdrive through it to keep it lined up until tomorrow when I can get a new one.

Standing on it's own legs...

Also got the wiring finished for the high load stuff.... (FR and Controller)

Managed to get the 12V stuff together - one is the fuse panel for the positive, a buss for the negative - and a 48v relay that will shut everythign off when the key is turned off.

Figured while I was at it I would mount to turn signal switch on the steering column..

A few more things before these go to their new home....

I need to get the 12V shored up this week with the switches, stereo, lights, and neon's.... Wheels and tires should be here tomorrow. Body is probably going to be finished tomorrow as well....

Could you have used six 8 volt batteries? Would there be a big difference in performance? Just curious cause I golf and if I go to 48 volts the bag well wont be an option. I guess you would have to go a 48 volt charger with the 8 volts instead of adding a 12 volt...is that the only reason why? As usual looking forward to seeing the progress.

The (soon to be) owner didn't want to pay for a whole new charger. Plus - there is a back seat on here so it won't matter. You'll get longer run times with 8 batteries versus 6.

I golf with my personal cart with a back seat and batteries in the bag well - you just need the bracket.

Each motor is a bit different in cost from EMP - they are largely spec built. If you planned on $450 or so you would be okay.... I would suggest calling Chuck or Andrea over there through... both are great people.

Bump for a cool project.
This is close to what I want to build. Have you made anymore progress?
Also I would love to see more pictures as I am new to cart building.
Seeing all of this detail in the pictures is great information for me.
Good luck with your project.
