Painting Roof on a EZGO
Bought my cart with a white top and want a black top. Can you paint these things? I have all the necessary sprayers to paint cars and such so I'm willing to do it right. Just need ideas on if it can be done and what steps to take. The cost of a new one is not in the budget but I don't mind putting in the time.

Re: Painting Roof on a EZGO
They can be painted. Depends on the outcome you are looking for. I just used an orbital sander to rough it up and used black bed liner rust-oleum rattle can for the paint. Pretty durable and not hard to do. Suits my needs. More prep time and spray gun would give much better results i'm sure. I have read here where some guys are using scotchbrite pads. Do a search for painting tops. Im sure there are a bunch of threads. Good luck.

My buddy did the same thing as DIRTPIT. Scuffed it with sandpaper and black bedliner from a rattle can. It gave his cart a cool, Dark Knight kinda vibe.

Sounds good thanks guys. If I go with canned paint what is best type to use? Not spray paint either. I want to put the time in to make it look good.

I'm just a poor MS redneck that built a hunting buggy. I'll paint over the scratches if it bugs me. Some of the paint guys will chime in soon to tell you how to and the best stuff to use.

Re: Painting Roof on a EZGO
Did my friends ez-go a few years back with Krylon Fusion satin black. Cleaned it with dawn dish soap and a scotchbrite and it still looks good.
