There are (4) Trojans and two others that I did not identify. The other two were obviously different. The (4) have a date in '04 written on them.

I don't know if this a repeat but I was unsure if my last reply went through. There ar (4) trojan batterries and (2) other kinds. I know from what I have read so far that that will eventually be a problem. The owner says it was running a month ago. The (4) Trojan batteries have a date in '04 written on them.

Check to make sure the batteries have water in them. ONLY USE distilled water. Fill them enough to get about 1/4 - 1/2 inch of distilled water above the plates and then fully charge the pack.....of coarse you will have to repair the battey cables before this will happen.

Take them off one at a time, clean real good, then re-install. (replace the bad cables throughout the process.) If it ran a month ago it sounds like just some bad cables and connections. You will need to get a voltmeter if you plan on working on it. Also, if the batteries are dead the charger will not come on. You will have to charge the batteries seperately to get them up enough for the golf cart charger to come on.

If your not comfortable doing any of this you will be better off taking it to someone who is....one mistake and it may not make it for christmas.

I picked it up yesterday and trailered it to my house. I replaced the battery cables that I spoke of before, turned the key to "on" and took off. It seems to run fine and no other problems I can see. Because it was not running at the time I bought it I got an extroidinary deal. Let's just say that I could sell it right now and make $1000 right now. I am very happy. I hooked it up to the charger today and the batteries were charged enough so that the charger immediately came on and seems to be working fine. I appreciate all the input I received on this site, it really helped me have the confidence to take a chance on this thing.
