Question Pedal bracket pin removal

Is there an easy way to remove the Accelerator pedal bracket pin.
I removed the cotter pin but the pin wont slide out.
Do I have to dismantle the entire plunger to the pedal box to relieve the pressure to get it out.
The pin is pretty old
I have a 95 Medalist that I am replacing the steel Accelerator pedal.

Thanks

That pin is probably rusted in there. Put the nut back on enough to protect the threads and try hitting it with a hammer from the passenger side to drive it out. Becareful with that bolt it is a special shouldered type.

Yep, its rusted solid. Last one I removed took a cutting torch to get it out....that was after ripping the head off with a 3/4 inch impact.

I've had the rusted bolt issue before and usually causes brakes to drag.
When I finally get the bolt out by what ever means I will drill the shaft of the new one with a .0625 or 1/8" drill bit and drill and thread a grease fitting in the head before reassembling.
