Motor runs but cart does not move
I have a Model # TXTPDS- Serial# 2571703 E-Z-Go For about a week now we've been hearing a noise from the rear axle when backing out of the garage. Yesterday the cart would not move but it sounds like the motor is running put it in reverse no movement.

Re: Motor runs but cart does not move
I would be willing to bet what has happened is your drive hub (the drivers side) has striped, thus NO GO. its a fairly common problem, or at least a known issue. to verify that's your issue. have someone help you, makes this a lot easier and safer. put the cart in gear, and look at the large nut in the center of the drivers side hub as you try to move under power.....if the nut spinning? if so, that's your problem.(IF you cart has duct covers on they you will need to remove the wheel and remove it, then put the wheel back on). you will need to replace the hub.
OH and BTW..... David, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy. oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |

Re: Motor runs but cart does not move
Just jack it up and see if they spin normally. If so, remove the wheels so you can see the axle nuts, hold the brake down and hit the go pedal. Whichever nut spins and the hub doesn't is your problem. If that is it I would replace them both with the Ausco HD kits. About the same price as a factory hub and they won't strip out..

Re: Motor runs but cart does not move
Hey guys, is this the probable cause if the motor spins and there is a gear-slipping noise coming from the rear?
