Default 2001 TXT battery choice

I acquired a 2001 TXT that had been in storage a bit and the batteries were neglected to say the least. My local Sam's sells the duracell brand for $85 each. They are 215AH batteries. Do you guys have any thoughts on if these will hold up ok? I know I shouldn't skimp on the heart of the cart but I feel duracell is a reputable brand and 215AH isn't too bad a rating. I have looked at interstate and exide and both want about 130. T105's are an easy 150 around here.

Thoughts?

well for starters.....they are under rated. a STANDARD 6v Golf Cart battery is rated at 225 AH. SO those Duracell are -4.4% below Standard......thus their RUN TIME will be less.

here is a list of the major quality batteries and their model numbers/AH ratings

How far you can drive the cart on a single charge will be reduced a bit and the batteries will have to be replaced a bit sooner, but other than that the cart performance and top speed will be roughly the same as it would be with any of the other 6V batteries on the list.

Shorter driving distance is something that will exist every time you take the cart out, but depending on what you use the cart for and how you use it, slightly reduced run-time may not be an issue. IE: If the carts range is 20 miles with a 225AH battery pack, it will still be 19 miles with a 215AH pack.

A reduced battery lifespan means the relative cost per day over the pack's usable lifetime increases, but the break even point is only about 4% in the price of the batteries vs the AH of the batteries. In other words, if a 225AH set of batteries were to last 64 months and cost $150 each, or $900 for a 36V pack, they will cost $14.06 per month while the 215AH set will only last 61.6 months, but only cost $85 each, or $510 for the set, which is $8.28 per month. That is $5.28 per month less operating expense.

The trick is to buy the highest AH that meets your run-time needs, at the lowest price you can find locally.

Ok, so I bought a new set of what I was told were trojans. They are black case batteries and have a part number of T105 OE. My core batteries were maroon case trojans labeled trojan. These have a sticker saying worldwide battery. Their website says they are a master distributer for trojan. The company I bought them from sells them as trojans and just says they are a private label and the exact same thing. His core business is cart customizing and repair.

Thoughts?

Do they have an AH rating on them?

I've seen specs for the black box 6V Trojan battery that state it is 210AH rather than the 225AH of the T-105. That would make them a T-605 clone.
