You could, yes. The downside is that the motor will remain engaged to the differential. Your rear motor will be pushing the front axle and motor. There's no way to select neutral so the diff freewheels.

If the rear is turning the front diff and motor, would the regen cause a problem?

I rewired mine to have selectable front wheel drive, rear wheel drive or four wheel drive. The motors don't add much resistance when they are turned off, you can spin the wheels by hand easily.

Re: 2012 Bad Boy Classic 4x4
No idea. I've never had a regen cart. I just leave mine in 4wd full time. There's not much difference in how far it goes on one motor or both. The extra amps consumed by pushing the dead front axle negate any runtime gained by not using the front motor. The great thing is that unless you're climbing a vertical slope, that extra motor's torque will barely allow the cart to slow down going uphill.

Revolution - I have been thinking about doing the same thing to my 2012 Bad Boy Classic (once I get it moving again). Did you notice any increase in range when staying in 2 wheel drive?
