rejuvinating batteries
I have read of a powder that you put in your batteries that make them like new. Is there anything to this?

Re: rejuvinating batteries
It is the belief of most posters here that you can't bring batteries back to life with a snake oil.
I've seen these discussed, but I can't say as to whether they work or not. http://www.batterylifesaver.com/ When my batteries were not performing like they should back in October I asked the same question you asked, I ended up buying new batteries. |

Re: rejuvinating batteries
Nope. There is only two things you can do to a battery, add water and keep it charged up. If a battery fails to hold a charge or low capaciy, assuming it has water in it, there is no bringing it back to life.

Re: rejuvinating batteries
No battery has an infinate lifespan. Once depleated, they should be replaced. Anything you try to do to them will only spend money that should be saved for new batteries...

It's probly asprin. Dropping asprin in your batteries creates acetylsalicylic acid ...this acid reacts with the sulfuric acid to form acetic acid. Good for a boost, but bad for the battery. Acetic acid will eat away at the the inner workings of the battery. IN other words DON'T DO IT! I probly shouldn't have even posted it. |

Re: rejuvinating batteries
Ditto....everyone is totally correct. When your batteries are gone, they are gone. Have a small funeral service and go buy a new set.

Re: rejuvinating batteries
Actually I left a couple of things out that are the common since (no-brainer stuff), like keeping them clean, connections tight, attack corrosion at first site, and in good repair You get the idea.
