Default 2009 RXV Selector Switch Wiring Schematic

I am in the process of installing a battery indicator, and I need the wire schematic to determine the color coding. Thank you.

If you install your meter from the keyswitch wiring, better check local availability on a new motor controller. The RXV aint like the old days of adding stuff to the keyswitch. If you wish to add a 48v device that you want to turn on and off with the key, it must be wired to the switched side large terminal of the main solenoid. The wire diagram is available on this site (rxv danaher troubleshooting guide), but i suggest not messing with that as a method of adding accessories. The solenoid on a rxv is always on when the key is on (unless you leave it on, unattended for long while), so its a good safe place to wire 48v accessories.

Thank you for the response. I am glad that I am asking first and learning. What about the two wire connectors that are already attached behind the dash, connected to the switch? Is that used for the battery indicator?

Leave those alone also, please wire to the main solenoid. I know, those dash wires look so easy, please leave them alone unless you wish to buy the OEM plug-and-play gas gauge (not very expensive). Please do yourself a favor and do it without chopping into the oem wires (controller is very expensive)...one little tiny spark can cost you several hundred dollars. Using an aftermarket meter is fine, but connecting it wrong one time will cost big-time $.

why not just install a factory fuel gauge, the wiring is already there?

I agree. Whydogo to the solenoid if the wires are there? I added anewdigital meter tomy dash and must tapped into the existing wires. For sure disconnect batteries while doing it to be safe.

Those wires are fed from internal controller circuits (which are capable of delivering very limited amps). When someone follows your advice, and finds the device that draws just enough amps (or hooks their china-meter-without-instructions up wrong), they will wish they had listened to the "dont do it" crowd, instead of the "do it, do it" crowd. Theze circuits are fragile enough that those of us who have seen all the botched installs just wont suggest people hook anything to them.

I'm about to add one of the meters to my RXV. Is there a diagram or picture somewhere that shows which posts to use on the solenoid? I found one on here for the factory voltage reducer when I installed that but am not sure which posts to use for the meter.
